Stiebel Eltron Instant Hot Water Heater (Point-of-Use)

Instant hot water heaters are quickly catching on as an efficient alternative to conventional tank-type hot water heaters. While there are many models available to heat the water for an entire house, there are also styles called point-of-use water heaters.

These ultra-compact instant hot water heaters are designed to be installed, like their name says, very near to where you will be using your hot water, such as a bathroom or kitchen.

The Stiebel Eltron Mini series produces hot water on demand only as it is needed. This makes them very energy efficient, and eliminates the energy needed to keep a 40 to 80 gallon tank of water hot at all times. They are small, efficient, economical, and easy to install.

With their small size, point-of-use on-demand hot water heaters can easily fit under a sink or in a nearby cupboard or closet. Due to this close proximity they deliver hot water to the sink or shower almost immediately. This has several energy and money saving benefits.

The need to run the water until it gets hot at the sink or shower is eliminated, saving large amounts of water. Thermal heat loss associated with long pipe runs is also reduced. In a new home construction, there is no need to run a hot water line all the way from a centrally-located water heater, saving significant plumbing and material costs.

Stiebel Eltron Mini instant hot water heaters run on electricity, so there is no need to run gas lines or vents to each heater in the home. There are several models to choose from varying in output capacity and they are available in a voltage to meet your power requirements and they can be installed almost anywhere because they are only 3.2 x 7.5 x 6.5 inches; and weigh just 3.4 pounds.

Note: If you have natural gas available, be sure to look into the Rinnai Series of Instant water heaters as well and check out what works best for you.
